The talk On a crack problem for a strain-limiting nonlinear elastic model, by Hiromichi Itou (Tokyo University of Science), will be held on Monday October 31, 2016 at 9:00 in room K3.
Abstract
In this talk, a nonlinear crack problem subject to the non-penetration condition is stated in the framework of nonlinear elasticity concept of limiting small strain and investigated with respect to its well-posedness. We introduce the concept of a non-smooth viscosity solution which is described by generalized variational inequalities and coincides with the weak solution in the smooth case. The well-posedness is proved by the construction of an approximation problem using elliptic regularization and penalization techniques.
