The talk On analysis of several nonstandard growth problems in fluid and solid mechanics, by Josef Málek will be held on Monday March 20, 2017 at 9:00 in room K4.
Abstract:
After a brief review of what one can understand as a PDE problem with standard and nonstandard growth, we present several nonstandard growth problems in fluid and solid mechanics that come out naturally from implicit constitutive equations, paying a particular attention to the results concerning their analysis. We will concentrate on the problems in the following areas: (i) implicitly constituted incompressible fluids, (iv) solids with bounded linearized strain, (iii) compressible fluids with bounded divergence, (iv) incompressible fluids of power-law type with concentration/pressure dependent power-law index.
