Abstract
The main purpose of this study is to establish the existence of weak solution to the anti-plane stress problem for a class of recently proposed new models that could describe of elastic materials in which the stress can increase while the strain yet remains small. Further qualitative properties of the solution will be investigated as well. Although the considered class of models shares certain similarities with the minimal surface problem the presence of additional model parameter studied in a specific range makes the presented result different from those asscoiated with the minimal surface problem.
